Alric

Founder, Clerk

Alric was born in Wessex, near Winchester. As the second son of Thegn Osgod, Alric's early years were spent in preparation for the church. When his father and older brother fell fighting the Normans at Hastings, however, Alric abandoned the cloisters, took up the sword, and crossed to the continent. He wandered from Friesland to Kiev, once journeying as far east as Constantinople, selling his sword to anyone who could pay. As his reputation grew, he gathered a band of similarly minded wanderers and freemen about him - the men of Drentha.

Alric is co-founder of Drentha.
