Wulfstan Ragnarsen
Founder
Wulfstan invaded the British Isles in 1066 as a part of Harald Hardraada's army. During the rout at Stamford Bridge, he was unceremoniously knocked in the head by a flying helm and left lying under a log. Not being the burliest warrior, he was overlooked as the victorious but exhausted Saxons marched south to intercept the Norman invasion. When he woke up he wandered for days, toting his gear, until he met Alric.
Wulfstan's father was called Ragnar Harbjoða (the Vertically Challenged), and gave Wulfstan his blatantly Saxon name because he was traveling in southern England when he received word of his son's birth. Wulfstan, though surnamed Ragnarsen, was generally known back in Norway simply as Wulfstan Fremr-bjoða (the Even More Vertically Challenged), though he never revealed this fact to the men of Drentha. His father was also a far-traveling merchant soldier, and even served in the Varangian Guard in Constantinople in his younger days. He consequently brought home many foreign fighting styles and weapons which his son, Wulfstan, enthusiastically adopted.
Wulfstan is co-founder of Drentha.
